    Hello

I have a Diplomat ADP8242 that has gone faulty. As soon as I turn the machine on it fills with water and tries to start a wash cycle. (even with the door open!)

The leftmost LED is permantly lit and the rightmost LED is flashing. (I have tried to do the reset mentioned on these pages, i.e. pressing the programme button 4 times etc, but this has no effect)

Can anyone tell me what this error means?

I assume I need to replace the PCB but i was jst wondering if this error code meant something else was also faulty.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Door latch is probably stuck in the closed position. Have a look into the latch opening – you should be looking at two “prongs”. If they are pointing upwards, the latch is shut and you cannot reset or reprogramme the computer.

    thanks for your reply.

you were right the door catch was in the closed position. I took the black plastic section apart & remounted the door catch. the washer now works ok.

Keep up the good work, this is a fantastic site.

    cheers
    Ste
