ParticipantHello
I have an integrated diplomat dishwasher, model ADP 8242, with a capacitor that decided to blow yesterday 😮 .
I am not sure what the capacitor is for but the following information is shown on the side:
D.E.M. F3CF7002L
0.1μF(X1) + 1MΩ
+2×0.002μF (Y2)
250V 50/60Hz – 16A/40ºCThere are 4 connections on the base of the unit and two earth connections.
Does anyone know what this is for, and if it usual for it to fail ❓
Also, is there anywhere I can get a new one ❓Hopefully there is someone who can help ❗
Thanks

Hi
Its a mains suppressor, used to stop interference to other appliances.
An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get you sorted.Un plug appliance before attempting any repair :plug:

Thanks for the quick reply Greg, and the information you have given.
I have tried to e-mail at the address you gave but it is coming back as mail delivery failed .
Do you know if there are any problems with the e-mail address ?Thanks

I think that the capacitor on my machine has just gone. There was a loud bang and a gunpowder like smell. The machine seems to operate normally and nothing seems out of the ordinary on inspection of the innards except that the top of the capacitor case is cracked.
If you don’t mind, I have two questions main questions (and two for Russell if he is still around).
Do you think that it is the capacitor that has gone? I’m used to finding black residue when capacitors go bang and there isn’t any.
If it is the capacitor, what would cause it to blow? Might the motor/pump be faulty?Russell, have you had any problems since you replaced your capacitor? Was it easy to order from UK White Goods and how much was it?
Thanks

Mains suppressor is p/no 813410341, £7 or 8 from memory (it’s late 😀 ). They will fail occasionally as they are permanently live, so long as the machine is switched on at the wall.
An email with the part number to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get things moving for you.
