    Hi,

we’ve ‘inherited’, along with kitchen, one of these dishwashers (Diplomat ADP8242). For the last 6 months it’s run fine, but now (for the last ~week) it just won’t switch off – it will run for hours if we let it.

Any suggestions as to the cause of the problem? And any solutions?

We’ve kept the machine pretty spotless inside – filters are clean, jets on arms etc clean. Water sits in the ‘sump’ – part way down where the finest filter sits, and fills the softening salt chamber when the salt’s all gone. I’m assuming this is normal.

When we do finally decide that it’s run enough, we open the door, find it moderately warm inside, but the dishes etc are clean, although I’ve just run the machine with a Fairy ‘active machine cleaner’ tab, and it was pretty cool when I opened it (after ~2hrs).

What would help to know is:

    1. Is there anything easily we can do?

    2. Is it an Engineer/spares job

    3. Would it be more economical to replace the machine?

    Thanks

    Nick

    hi,
it sounds like a circuit board fault, not really a diy job,as far as replacing it i would be more likely to repair it if its integrated because of the hassle to replace it.
suggest click on repairs@ link for an engineer.
if you do have a look yourself take the plug out.
