ParticipantHi All,
I’m hoping you’ll be able to help me out this washer. It’s a bit of a long story so bear with me… 😳 (FYI This machine is in a property I rent so I’ve no idea how old it is. I’ll be on the phone to the agent in the morning, but knowing how slow they can be :rolls: if there’s anything I can do I’d like to try it. So I came to the experts :D)
Anyway, turned the dishwasher on tonight to see the soak light (far left) was on solidly. Tried the 4 press reset a few times with no joy so I closed the machine and it ran for a few minutes. When this sounded like it had finished I opened the door and the program selection light was flashing as usual. So, selected super (far right) as normal, put in a active burst and let it get on with it.
A few minutes pass and the electric trips out and wouldn’t stay on. Narrowed it down to the washer which by then had a dripping sound coming from underneath 😮 Pulled out the skirting to see a few pints of water underneath. I disconnected the washer and mopped up the water and now the electricity stays on… yay 😀
So… the washer has water inside and the ocassional drip still coming from underneath.
Any ideas on how I should proceed or where I should be looking? ❓

SMEG-built machine, so if it faults, you should be able read the combination of lights and let us know. To be honest, from your description, it sounds like a hose has split or come off under the cavity and over-flowed the base. If it has flooded that vigorously, you should be able to spot it if you want to take a look for yourself. The centre panel of the base unclips for access.
Power off first, of course.

ParticipantMany thanks for the reply Penguin45. Today was the first chance I’ve had to take a look, so I took off the door and un-screwed/clipped the base panel. There was a bit of water in there, but I couldn’t see any split or unclipped hoses. Should I be looking at any particular / common hose?
There were no fault lights last time it was on, but now it’s had a few days to dry out (and i’ve scooped out the water still in the machine) I’ll pop it on and see if I get any lights.
Thanks for the help so far

Well, it’s a month later and this machine is in the process of being replaced. There were still no lights to indicate error codes, so an engineer visited. He diagnosed a ‘hole in the drum’ meaning the whole machione needs to be replaced. Might be useful to anyone else who finds they have a sudden large leak.
