Got a call to this Smeg d/w by people who had just bought the house. When they tried to use machine they said it would start to wash for a while and then stop and water was leaking from undertneath. When i checked it out while it was washing, water was pouring from the wash motor seal. Customer decides to go for repair so return few days later for straight forward job of replacing motor. When i fit motor and test machine i notice a dripping of water near the outlet pump. To cut a long story short after about 2 hours of trying to trace this leak (sealing sump with silocone etc) i finally discover a pin hole in cabinet base near where it joins the sump. How it got there i dont know, there is no rust or anything. Anyway repaired hole with putty metal from underneath all leaks now cured. Now machine fills with water starts washing for about 5 minutes and then stops. No lights flashing just the led of the programme on. Is this going to be a dispenser job?
Wish i never started this one!

    Any help please

Is this a whirlpool machine? I think it maybe, if it is a faulty NTC causes it to abandon prog sometimes after a few minutes as if it had completed the wash, no fault codes, nothing.

Yep it’s a smeg and dispenser sounds favourite…the easiest way to check is to hook up any old inlet solenoid on the dispenser harness then give it a run 😉

Sometimes they don’t behave until you’ve done a reset, software problems seem to be quite common….
