Diplomat ADP8252 – leak from underneath, near the front

We have water leaking from a (manufactured) circular hole from the underneath of our machine, a few centimeters back from the front and a little left of centre. It drips out fairly quickly a couple of times during the wash, although I’m not sure of the stage of the cycle as the display is hidden when the door is shut. It has warped out laminate flooring and we need to get it sorted.

Has anyone got any ideas why the machine has suddenly started leaking from this point and what we can do to fix it?

Note there is a second (manufactured) circular hole a little to the right of the one that is leaking, but no water is coming from this one.

The machine is 5 years old.

I think that’s the one with the holes in the base pan just under the flood protection float that effectively prevents it from detecting a leak 😕

….in which case it’s a matter of getting the kick panel away and/or the base plate and finding the leak 😉

Not sure they have any holes in the undertray…… unless of course a cowboy has drilled them……
Usual leaks on those are from where the Air break joins the water softner unit in the right hand side panel (when looking at the front of the dishwasher). Quite a big job to get at and not really a diy job.

I’ve seen a few now with what are obviously manufactured holes i.e. from the factory…the holes are about 6mm dia, one directly under the flood float 😯

Steveh99, you are not alone!! Did you manage to fix this?

I have exactly the same problem! 5 yr old ADP8252 with a leak from the small hole underneath. 🙁 Quite bad and ours too has warped our laminate floor. 👿 👿

I guess its covers off time to try to see what the problem is. Any other info greatly appreciated.

It’s a Chinese dishwasher, so anything is possible.

The simplest course of action to take is to bin the multifunction tablets you’re using and buy some Fairy Bursts. It’s a low froth product, so shouldn’t run down the overflow tubes. Much. Topping up the rinse aid is good too. Next, never, ever, open the door once it’s running and it might go on a bit longer.

Sorry, cheap nasty rubbish sold for a quick profit. Put ‘Haier AND dishwasher’ into Search for this forum only and prepare to be amazed.

Thanks P45(!) for the quick response.

TBH, as you can imagine, it came as part of a package and to be fair its performance thus far has been OK.

I know what you mean about cheap chinese rubbish, I work in manufacturing so this is our mantra every day!! The whole country is full of the stuff every where you look. You do indeed get what you pay for.

Anyway, I shall try to investigate said leak & check out the Fairy product too.

Assuming I can find a problem, being new to this site, can I get replacement parts from here?

Also, long term, what machines are a better bet, quality wise?

Names you recognise, for a start……. Except for the Indesit Group machines – shockingly bad.

Built-ins are a problem – it’s a relatively low volume product, so not a huge presence. We have had a SMEG for the last 4 years and it’s been faultless to date.

Never buy a machine with a “Q” in the model number, and consider that a cheap machine is cheap for a reason……….
