I have a Diplomat ADP8322 which is playing up. It will start and water is getting in but after about 5 minutes all we get is grumbling for the rest of the cycle. Then the water drains out but the dishes are dirty and the tablet is still whole.

I’ve looked at a number of postings on the web and tried filling the sump with hot water and it worked fine for a few days but at that time I was getting the 4 ‘beeps’ – now I get nothing, no flashing lights, just gurgling / grumbling.

I’ve checked the hoses and they are all clear. I’ve had a look around the motor and everything is spotless.

I actually opened up the pressure sensor diaphragm and noticed a drip of grease / glue outside the pressure ‘plate’. The rubber plate had became unstuck so I used the grease / glue to put it back and reassembled. Is this what the pressure plate should be like or do I need to replace the sensor?

Also, would this be the cause of the gurgling / grumblings or is this indicating some other problem – possibly the NTC sensor or motor?

from what you say sounds like the motor. when these fail they can make a grumbling noise. sometimes they will start if you open and close the door a few times but its wear anr tear so needs to be replaced.
these are very good units and dont cause a lot of problems and far outlasts the modern hotpoint (junk) etc
