Our Diplomat ADP8322 dishwasher is playing up sadly. Last week I replaced the pump for the second time and everything was fine, but now the water isn’t heating.

I get the 3 beeps and from reading this forum I’m assuming it’s the heating element – or possibly the wiring?

The dishwasher is 8 year old and as I say I replaced the pump last week – after replacing the original 3 years ago. It’s been a great servant but I wonder if it’s time to buy a new dishwasher?

If a replacement needs purchased, are there any recommendations i.e. fitting the new dishwater in the same integrated position?

If you decide to replace the dishwasher then any integrated machine should be a straight swap. They are a bit of an art to get a perfect fit as kitchen units and doors either side are rarely perfectly upright, square and aligned but it’s certainly worth the time getting it right.

Depending on the make and model you choose, and worktop height etc you may need to slightly reduce the height of the wooden kick panel directly under the dishwasher to give clearance for the wood door. Also some models are fitted with an aquastop on the tap end of the fill hose which might need a larger clearance hole through an adjacent unit to reach the tap.

As with most things these days, generally the more you spend the better you get…

Or meter the heater with a multimeter and check for broken wires in door. Regards Simon

Thank you Clive and Simon for your feedback.

I did some digging last night and I can see I have a broken wire. I’ll hopefully get it fixed over the weekend and I’ll provide an update for your info.

If it doesn’t fix things then I’ll look at buying a new dishwasher.

Well done. If the wiring harness protector is cracked it may need replacing or you can take it out and with a Stanley knife cut a piece out of the sides at the top part so it matches the shape of the bottom and then turn it round top to bottom. The two torx screws above the bottom panel will need undoing to retrieve the lower bit after removing bottom panel.
