ParticipantHi all hope you can help. I recentley recieved and installed the Integrated Diplomat ADP8322 Dishwasher, it has been working fine for the past week or so, however, tonight my neighbour alerted me to small drips!!! I immediately checked my appliances and discovered my dishwasher had been leaking!
I recieve no “flashing” errors on the dial and the water will drain if I switch the machine on, but it then begins to fill up and over flow!
So, the hose is clear, the pump does work and the machine will clean the dishes but it seems to pool up.
It seem almost as though water is still getting in even when the machine is not running, although I could just be seeing the drips from the initial cycle. It still makes me wonder if it could be the water intake valve?
Thanks

Clean water pooling would suggest that the inlet valve is weeping into the machine. Dirty water would suggest back fill from the sink coupling of the drain pipe. The drain hose should be raised above the height of the connection point as water cannot flow up hill.
However, unless the machine fills to overflowing, this will not leak into the downstairs flat. I would check the fill hose couplings as soon as possible.

ParticipantThanks, having now sat down in the light of day to take a closer look. It appears that the water is clean and slowly pouring in from the white cap to the right hand side inside the machine. I have switched the machine off and it seems to be down to the water supply.
When I switch off the supply the trickle of water stops then when it’s back on it goes again. How would you suggest I remedy this?
The hoses seem to be OK the water will drain when th e machine is switched on. However it seems that this has happened because I havent used the machine and this trickle of water has built up and spilled out!

hi
I take it by the supply to the machine you mean the water is turned off ?
If this is the case then you will have a faulty inlet water valve that will require changing.
This is normally caused by new pipework that hasnt been flushed to remove the dirt from making the new connections and joints.
If you mean that when you turn the mains power off then it will be normally an electrical fault giving power to the valve when its not supposed to.
Either way it will be an engineer visit if its under warranty. If its over 12 months old then the valve can be changed fairly easily but remember to turn the power off before any work is carried out.
hope this helps

There are 2 possible causes.
1. If you have low water presure then the water will pass by
easiest way to explain is :- if you look at the way water flows on a canal, the gates close the same way if the water presure is high the gate is forced shut hence no leaks, if the water pressure is low the gate does not close resulting in leaks.
2. other cause could be that you could have grit stuck in the valve causing the valve not to close hence leaking water, could try upping the pressure, if this fails change valve — power off first.

ParticipantThanks for the speedy replies, yes I meant the water supply 🙂 So my thoughts are presumed correct the valve is to blame. Customer Care here I come.
Thanks for the help, great forums you guys have here.
