Can anybody help? A few weeks ago my dishwasher started making a louder noise than it normally does when washing. A couple of days ago it stopped washing properly. It doesn’t come up with an error code. Water is getting in, it is heating OK and draining OK. But the dishwasher tablets remain on the bottom of the machine – I don’t think the arms are going round at all. The arms themselves are not blocked.
Does anyone have any clues? I am reluctant to get someone out to try to fix it as it’s a cheap dishwasher and may not be worth it.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks for replying so quickly Penguin. Are you saying you think this is the part that has gone? If so, it seems it may be better to get a new dishwasher. Do you agree? If so, have you any hints and tips?
Thanks again.
Almost certainly the circulation motor – sounds like the impellor has come off.
If you repair it, the new motor will definitley not repeat the problem.
With the new motor, you would actually have a decent quality dishwasher which should give you a good few more years service. If you replace it, you need to budget for £450 plus to get something comparable.
