ParticipantI’ve about worked out, through this forum, that my diplomat dishwasher probably needs a new circulation motor? It’s doesn’t wash at all now but about a month ago started to make really loud noises during the wash cycle. Now it just takes in water at the beginning, opens the soap dispenser and nothing else – although I can hear a humming noise coming from the bottom of the machine. The spray arm doesn’t turn at all – but no fault numbers or beeping appears either.
Don’t know whether it’s acually worth fixing now – or better to buy a new machine? Not sure how old it is as was already in our new house when we moved in about 8 months ago.
We would need to get an engineer to fit any new parts, which in addition to the cost of the part might be expensive? Would appreciate any advice on either buying a new machine or buying the part and having it fixed? Also how much to have it repaired might cost?
Any help would be really helpful. Thanks! 🙁

DSarah, apologies I can’t help as I have come home to the same problem! I have carried out the checks as advised on the website and would be interested in any and all help. Many thanks Simon

Article HERE. It is a one time fix, so in that sense it’s worthwhile. A poke through the forum at the Whirlpool dishwasher threads will give you a reasonable idea of what other faults occur and their implications.
Overall, they’re not a bad machine for their price point.

Our ADP8322 blew the RCD last night and there was water leaking from the bottom of it, and water lying in the bottom of the machine. It looks like it’s the pump fault 1 or 2 as described in your excellent article. I was wondering if you had any further instructions on how to replace the pump? I haven’t checked it out yet but will this weekend.

Oops just realised I’m on slightly the wrong thread – it’s an ADP8322 we have – not the ADP8332. I think the same fault applies though. Had a look at it yesterday. Hard to say if there’s a fault with the pump. The outlet hose seemed to be greasy/slimy but didn’t spot any cracks in it. Reluctant to remove it as the spring clips look like they’ll need cutting off.
Any advice as to ensuring it is this? If I switch it on and look for water leaking I suppose that would be a good start.TIA
