ParticipantHi
I have a Diplomat ADP8520, problem started when I selected the program, and closed the door. The first 4 lights started flashing, along with 10 beeps. I have reset the dishwasher and switched the machine on and off (from the mains) hoping this would help, but no luck.Following that I decided to remove the waste pipe to eliminate any blockages, by blowing into the pipe. The first blow took a deep breath, but the one after was ok, so the pipe itself doesn’t seem to be blocked.
Any ideas what this could be? Unfortunately I don’t have the manual, so not sure what the error lights, and bleeps, mean.
Thanks for your help.

Hi coko,
It’s a Haier, just do a search and you’ll see why that’s a bit depressing.
It’s either overfilling or the base is flooded, usually due to the use of multi-function tablets in these machines, they don’t like them. They like them even less if you use rinse aid with tabs.
It could be a leak as well though in which case you will have to find from where and sort that otherwise it’ll just keep on doing this.
They are a pig to get into. 🙁
Essentially I expect that the base is flooded and the overfill protection has been activated. You have two choices to sort it out, either strip it and clear the water or draw it out, tip it forward and the water in there should come out, all over the floor. 😕

K,
Thank you very much for your fast response. Your right, it was flooded, I pulled the dishwasher out, tipped it and problem solved .
About a week ago I had a problem with the sink being blocked, in turn preventing the dishwasher from draining and leaving about an inch of water at the bottom of the machine. So i solve the problem with the sink, manually cleared the water from the dishwasher and all was fine. We have only used the dishwasher once since then.
Do you think the machine will flood again due to an internal problem (i.e leak), or is the flood linked to the blockage we experienced and all should be fine from here on?

Hi coko,
It’s Chinese, all bets on recurring faults are off I’m afraid. 😉
If the drain was blocked it should give a no-drain error and stop, not flood into the base tripping the overfill. So my guess would be that there’s something else that is the actual cause.
