ParticipantHi, I’ve got a problem with this dishwasher & have searched this forum to no avail. I have the 1st, 3rd & 4th light flashing on the dishwasher. It looks like the dishwasher has rinsed & then failed as the tablet has not yet released and the dishwasher has a couple of inches of dirty water which will not drain. Any pointers appreciated.

Try this first – Cancel existing program. Reset on a prewash and start the appliance. Note whether the pump empties the water at the start. If it doesn’t I would suggest a drain pump fault. If it does, it may be a heater fault.

I’ve tried cancelling the dishwasher by powering off. However, when I switch back on & select any program & close the door, nothing happens & fault reoccurs after about 2 mins. If I then press the half load button, all 7 program led’s flash at the same time. Is this dishwasher made by Smeg as I could try the reset. Its the integrated type with the stainless steel door.

That fault code is not in the official list but judging by the symptoms you may have a faulty dispenser (well documented on here), a faulty heater or the pcb itself may be faulty.
The dispenser and heater can be checked with a meter for circuit continuity and earth resistance….if they check out then that really only leaves the pcb.
If that is beyond you then it’s time for professional help (try the link below for a local engineer), but if having a go yourself then power off before doing anything. :zap:

Well I could not get the reset to work but I did figure out how to test the dishwasher & it looks like the pump is at fault. With the door open, if I press & hold the P button whilst switching on, I get 2 beeps & every led lit. When I then close the door, pressing the delay timer button starts the fill cycle. If I then press the half load button, the filling stops. Pressing half load button again starts the dishwasher washing and releases the dispense door. Pressing Half load again stops the cycle. Another half load button press starts the heater (I think) and pressing again turns it off. Finally pressing the half load button again runs the pump (again I think) but I just get a humming noise as if the motor is seized or jammed. To stop the pump & end the test cycle I have to press the P button. After trying to run a dishwash cycle again, I can confirm that led’s 1,3 & 4 flash repeatedly & the dishwasher gives out 10 beeps.
Does this sound about right?
As the dishwasher is still under warranty, I’m not going to mess about with the pump but thought I might be able to save a service call.
