    It has to be a switching or thermostat problem then and I’m afraid to solve that you’re going to need that multimeter. πŸ˜‰

    Thanks mate and everyone else – but I think I might just claim on home contents insurance as it may turn out to be too much hassle than it’s worth and G/f is screaming for a new oven now!!

    I didn’t give up in the end and had an engineer come out to look at it.. it turns out that the problem lies with the main selector (board?) behind the central knob. One of the connectors had totally burnt out – even melting the plastic around it! 😯

    As it’s an MFI oven, I offered to get the part myself and the engineer would come back an install it…. does ukwhitegoods store main selectors for an AHY3610?
