Diplomat apl 1304

i have a diplomat apl1304 ceramic hob, it is only 3 months old, but the stainless steel surround has what looks like rust marks all over it underneath the laquer. MFI has said they will not do anything about it as it is still working and it not considered a fault. the fact that the hob looks rubbish because of does not seem to worry them. has anyone else seen of heard of this fault?

I have seen this on numerous different makes and it usually will remove with some elbow grease and proper stainless cleaner.
Spillage and stainless grade are possibly a factor.
