    Hello,
I’m new to this forum and would really appreciate your advice. I’ve had a Diplomat APL3201IX built in electric oven for 8 years. It’s never caused any problems before now but today the lights are on, the grill heats up, the fan works but there’s no heat from the oven.
I looked at the Q&A on this site and I’m guessing it’s the element but I’m wondering if it’s something a non-DIYer can fix themselves? As the oven is quite old is it even worth fixing and how much is it likely to cost?
    Thanks in advance…

    You’ll need one of these:

If you’re going to do this yourself, ensure that power is off at all times.

If you are going to ask an engineer to call and do this for you, you have an indication of the cost of the part – you should discuss labour costs when you make the call, as rates do vary across the country.

    Thanks Penguin,

Is it easy to do myself or would you recommend an engineer? I don’t even know where the element is in the oven. I can’t see it, only the grill one!

    Question answered.

Try repairs@ for a local engineer who can safely carry out the repair for you
