I have had this machine since 2001 but now unfortunately it no longer heats the water. After having it checked out by my someone who is an engineer (not a washing machine engineer) he tells me that he has isolated the problem; the controller. I spoke to the spares department and they asked if I require a timer or a module. Help please? I dont have a great deal of money and a call out would be expensive. I would appreciate your reply
    Thanks & regards

The module is part number 546013300 and retails for £42.15 exc VAT and P&P from MFI.

The timer is part number 516010301, retail £28.84 exc VAT and P&P.

It’s very unlikely that the timer is at fault – if it’s a toss up between the two then it’s much more likely that the module has failed.

Quite often, though, there is some other component at fault and people just assume that it’s the ‘controller’.

I would advise getting a washing machine engineer out to correctly identify the fault as it can be expensive to keep putting in parts in the hope that this cures it.

Try Repairs@ for a local independant repairer.
