Hi, I have a diplomat APM 8620 tumble dryer. The door will not stay shut, I have purchased a new spring, which way does the spring go in the catch, are there any other parts that I need? I have tried it all different ways and cannot figure it out.

The spring has one end slightly longer than the other which goes against the small raised area on the inside of the door handle after you’ve fed the pin through it and plugged it into the door latch.
If the original fault was that the door handle was sort of flapping loose a little bit and not allowing the door to latch closed then the fault is probably a small crack on the actual door frame itself and you’ll require a new one of them to complete the repair – part number 421307743104 available from the shop should you need one.
