    Machine has today started to make a fast rattling/clicking type noise during one of the washing programmes; 6&7 (haven’t tried other programmes yet). Cycle starts off ok, but part way through it begins this (quite loud) rattling noise, which seems to be eminating from behind the programme dial.

    The cycle continues through to a finish (for now) and doesn’t appear to hinder the wash programme.

    Any ideas as to what might be the cause of this noise, and is it possible to self fix?

    An update on this little problem, is that the noise only seems to happen when the machine is draining water. Does that narrow things down at all??

    DRAIN PUMP very worn, or there’s something rattling round in it.

    Power off if you’re doing this yourself.
