Diplomat APM6121 runs continuously

Hello,
I have had my fridge for 8 years and it has worked fine. Recently I noticed it was getting very cold (I hadn’t moved it or done anything to it) and realised it was no longer idling but was “running” all the time.

The fridge is set to 1 (the highest temp) and I have checked the seals – they are all fine. I have unplugged it so that it was completely defrosted and then plugged it back in. Even after a week the motor still runs continuously.

Can anyone help ?

You need to have an accurate temperature reading – it can be either short of refrigerant, the compressor is failing or the thermostat is duff. My gut feeling is that as its 8 years old it will be one of the first two, but without knowing the temperature its hard to confirm this.

Thanks for getting back to me. The temperature at the front of the bottom shelf is -4c.
