Please help me someone………
Initial problem with the Integrated Diplomat APM8542/2 the washing machine tripped electric at start of motor turning.
A friend (engineer – not a washing machine one!) took motor out and said brushes were fine so cleaned it up brought it back and still a problem. When said motor was unplugged the machine did not trip. He then went to connect the motor while still turned on and BANG!
We then find the Module had blown – which he passed off as the initial problem (DUH! I do not wear that explanation and I’m female!!) Anyway after a new motor and Module, all is sort of fine but the machine does not turn the motor at all whilst filling and spinning, also the machine does not go through the whole cycle now, presumably because the motor does not kick in. I have changed the timer program switch, used another Display, 2nd hand module and also pump.
The module has same numbers/reference etc., and said to fit the APM8542 (Which have found to be a Hygena too) Having said that it has some slight differences – 1 capacitor in btm left corner, mine 2 also resistors different colour and thickness. The supplier told me they update these things but should still work with the machine – he emailed me a diagram of the motor connections and the resistances etc., but not the module wiring. I used a multimeter to see if the wires to and from motor were broken and they seem fine. I did this with power off….. My only question apart from the obvious is…. Would it be possible that the wires from the motor to the module have to be swapped over in some way to tie in with the updated module???I really hope my very long story helps you to help me with the problem, Thanks in advance.
