Diplomat APM8552 Drain Pump

I’ve just ordered a new drain pump for the above model.

The machine won’t drain and has been making a loud grating sound. The hose is OK but the filter was jammed with a load of stuff that my wife didn’t take out of the kids’ pockets, so it looks like something has crept through.

However, I can’t see the pump when the filter is removed – it doesn’t seem to be directly behind the filter but to the side of it. Can anybody help with regard to how I gain access to the pump itself?

First the bad news you have to remove the washing machine from its kitchen unit and then remove the appliance back, this then gives you access to the pump.
Power off first :plug:
