Got this m/c in today, leaking from right hand side when filling (looking from the front) presumably from the water tank? Pretty sure this fault been covered before on this forum! But cant remember the out come 🙁
Thanks for the reply Alan. Never dismantled one of these water tanks before, is it as easy as it looks, a couple of screws & the large plastic screw on nut at the top of the tank?
Not a usual leak point on one of those. It could be the jet in the top of the air break blocked causing over-pressure in the fill hose which can leak at the point the hose joins the air break. No way to clean out that one though, you need to replace it.
No, no surprises in getting the air break off, just loosen the salt cap before doing so to drain the regen section of it and then suck all the water out of the sump. The pressure switch pushes into the air break along with another small hose so just be carefull to disconnect those when pulling it clear.
Turned out to be crud in the bottom of the sump, preventing the one way flap from opening, and the water from flowing in freely – so back up in the air break causing the leak 8)
