This machine, after being reset, worked on all programmes; However when left for longer than 1 hour the programmer will not re-programme, it just flashes on the setting it was originally set at. I can only move it by going through the reset procedure all over again. One hour later programmer frozen again 👿

I am thinking pcb fault unless someone can enlighten me further!
    Any other suggestions gratefully received?
    Brian.

Could really do with some of that wisdom regarding the “Smeg build in dishwasher” passing on to my problem as I think it is the same PCB.

If it is a pcb problem, can it be cured? if so how?

Would really like some constructive help please lads!
    Brian.

All you can do Brian is check for the usual suspects like leaks, earthing heater, dodgy dispenser solenoid etc and rule those out. Then it has to be the pcb…as to repairing it well it’s quite possible there’s even a software fault in which case a replacement board is the only real practical solution. 😕

What do you mean by when left longer than an hour? you mean it runs for an hour then the problem occurs or after swtiching off and returning in an hour you cannot programme it? Have a look at the underside of the board for dry joints.

Have you had many with dry joints Mark? I’ve replaced a few over the years, always have a look for dry joints (on any pcb) before condemning them but i’ve yet to see one on these. 😯
