    Hello,

I have recently moved into a new house that was fitted with a intergrated Diplomat dishwasher ADP 8500. (By doing a bit of searching on the internet this must be quite old as very limited info on this model).

Anyways have been using it for a couple of months when my missus changes the wash cycle to economy. Within 5 minutes the downstairs mains trips. Now as soon as you turn the mains on and shut the door, you just hear a big bang. Last night managed to find the source of the problem, I pulled it all out and stripped the panels and turned on to see huge sparks coming out. And obviously tripping Mains. Stripped the bit that was causing sparks. I believe it to be the heating element, I was expecting it to look a little different tho. Anyways the mains input connector to the heating element has been cooked and in a right state. So am looking to replace the heating element. The part number is 4619 724 15241. Firstly are these still available and are there any equivalent parts. And also how much and where could I get one??

    Cheers for any help!

    Hi Badger,

As far as I can see, yes the element is still available at the grand sum of £69.08 excl. VAT & carriage, this isn’t really a shock as most all Whirlpool spares are silly money.

An email to Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get one ordered if you want as it’s not a stock item.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers for that,

This morning I have taken the Heating Element out and measured the resistance across the terminals and am getting 25 ohms which I have since worked out is good as the Power rating on the side states 2kW.
Surely if the Heating element was buggered then the resistance across the terminals would be O/C.

However due to the heat form the fault the mains input connections have got too hot and are now open circuit! I was thinking of removing the mains input connector push on plug and putting some spade connectors onto the input (getting around the burnt out plastic connectors)as the heating element doesnt seem to be damaged!
Obviously Id use Heat shrink and good insulation etc.

I know this sounds like a bodge job but as long as I do it all safely its worth ago. before shelling out £100.
What do you reckon, worth a try??

I wouldn’t advise it TBH, too much of a fire risk.

    Hi K,

Yeah was thinking that! I might just have to bite the bullet and order the new heating element. Just trying to get round the £90. January can be a long month haha!

    Cheers.
