ParticipantHi,
I am asking all those who deal with Diplomat dishwashers for help on an issue I have regarding the model ADP8221.
First of all, am I correct in the assumption this is, or was a SMEG derivative of the model DWI710. When I became a SMEG agent it was at the back end of this particular model DWI710, I am aware they had issues regarding mechanical timers on these.
The particular problem I have is the timer sticks and the machine is in the total no go function. I have noted the amount of clicks to the stop/stick issue is 23/24 from zero. According to the timer sequence chart from the SMEG DWI710, I have checked out the relevant contacts (via the circuit diagrams) on the timer that should be made and found this to be OK. When I advanced the timer on, about 3-4 clicks it starts back up, ie the wash motor functions, timer motor is in life and advances on to drain, then brings in the wash motor and drains at the same time, all in accordance with the sequence chart at that point.
Does any one know what the problem is regarding the timer when it stops/sticks, there is no feed to the timer motor in any way shape or form.
I am sure I am missing something here but not quite sure. So if any one can help on this one please let me know.

Moderatorusually always down to the air brake being blocked. assuming the heater and door wires are ok.

If this was the problem I would have thought any advancement would not had the effect it has, IE advance on by 3/4 clicks and away she goes, the only change is the timer advancement not anything on the air-break, however I may be wrong, but it seems logical in my eyes.

Its a smeg dave, defies logic. Has the pressure switch released? Sure there is a tech memo on the smeg disc somewhere. This one also suffered from locking out like that if more than 2 pre rinse programmes were done before a main wash.

Treat it as mechanical E2 problem – should work.

Surely if it was ether of those above the advancement of the timer would have no affect, I mean, it would not kick back in after three to four clicks on.
If any one has the timer sequence chart for this please check it out at those click settings, you will see what I mean where in the program it stops.
However, if the above is it, then when the customer comes back off holiday in two weeks I shall check these out.
Thanks for your kind replies and keep them coming, remember, please look at the timer sequence chart if you have one.
