Diplomat dishwasher adp8630

The above dishwasher was not draining and had a foul smell. I opened it up and removed the container (see attachment) which (by the look of it) is full of grease. The container is hermetically sealed and I have no idea how to get that grease out short of cutting a hole in it and later sealing it over. I also can’t find a replacement container on any of the spare part websites. Any advice?

That’s the water softener.

The brown stuff isn’t grease. It’s resin and, it’s supposed to be there.
