KeymasterWe have a Diplomat dishwasher with 5 LED’s and when selecting any of the wash programmes the drain motor starts immediately and keeps running, there are a couple of “bleeps” and when opening the door the two right land LED’s are flashing. Can anything be done other than calling in Pro-help or wheeling it to the local tip?

KeymasterGive us a hint to try to start trying to help please with a model number as Diplomat dishwashers are manufactured by several different factories. 😉

Not found the model number yet but after a good clean out including the filter (to stop it smelling) it still didn’t work although just tried it again (empty) tonight and off it went so it looks to have recovered. I wonder how short-lived the recovery will be? I suspect it will wait until it’s full again and decide to go back on strike!

Steve,
Diplomat dishwashers have come from various sources over the years, including Brandt, Smeg and Whirlpool. Without the model number, we cannot give you any sort of accurate prognosis. Check around the edge of the door, or the surround for a code staring “ADP—-“. It really is crucial……….At a rough guess, the flood protection system has been activated, hence the drain pump running continuously. Draining the undertray will get the machine going again, but you will have to find the leak.
However, this is mainly conjecture without the model number………..

ModeratorSteve,
On most of the Diplomat 5 LED timers the display you descibe (2 RHS lights flashing) does not correspond to a fault code. The display often reverts to this after first flashing in a different sequence which would relate to a fault code.
As Penguin and Kwatt say the model number is essential. Try also to take note of any other light sequences which may come into effect immediately after the cycle ends (or the machine stops as the case may be).Craig

I cannot remember what the model no is but the lights u describe to my knowledge are on the top of the door edge as u open it ,if the flood switch is being operated it could be a leak but also in the sump of the appliance under the filter is a rubber flap if this is obstucted or if their is a build up of sludge behind the flap to the airbreak, then the water will not enter the mc quickly enough, raising the water level in the airbreak triggering the air presure side of the switch to operate. The fill pipe from sump to airbreak can be roded out with a piece of hose

Hi Guys… thanks for your time and trouble responding.
The model number is ADP 8132 Type 12043.
After a wash last night the drain pump remained running (but the dishes were clean!)
Thanks for your advice. -
