It stopped halfway through a wash. Error code F8. When you clear the screen by holding down the start key error changed to F2 and programme changed to Rinse. Purchased with new kitchen 20 months ago, but only guaranteed for 12 months. Apparently no-one but MFI can service these machines. Is that true?

This machine is made by Whirlpool, so I’d assume that Whirlpool engineers could also service them.

Many experienced independants will also be able to work on this type of appliance. Try Repairs@ for someone local to you.

There is a possibility of overfoaming having taken place. This would generate an F8 error. As a result of overfoaming the base may well be flooded and if the float switch is fitted to your machine this would generate the F2 error.
You’ll need to unplug it from the mains and take the machine out, put some towels at the back corners and tilt it back a little.
If I’ve got it right there should be some water drains out onto the towels.
Once you’ve done this test it by plugging it back in and holding the start button to reset it. Set your wash programe and hopefully it should now work.
If it still doesn’t work it’ll be engineer time and there will be no problem with the engineers on here carrying out the work.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks DP we’ve tried your suggestion. Reset machine but water floods out of the bottom – error code still F2. Looks like a visit from the repair man.
