power up to pcb state. no light an doesnt work, is it likely to be the pcb lads?

goin to this moro got it from ht maddocks, on website comin up with diagrm for havin to modify wiring. but no diagram or leaflet in box. do they al have to modifyed to work thanks. this is a 6 pin module? help lads

I’ve been to one of these today which is dead. The pcb isn’t switching the live on down to the compressor, which runs when the pcb is by-passed. I would have suspected that the pcb is faulty but I’m getting an open-circuit across the two thin wires from the board which I imagine go to the fridge thermistor. Does anybody know if I should be getting a resistance across these, and if so is the thermistor replaceable? Does anybody have a schematic diagram?

Most APM6852 models will be the 6 pin type and do not need to be modified.

The early models sometimes had 4 pin or 8 pin.

You will not find many 4 or 8 pin as most are 6 Pin.

If you order a module from AWS it will come complete with the mod details if you need them and also this will be the cheapest supplier for the pcb / module.

Rare to get any other fault on this model.

After fitting the module before turning the mains back on make sure you turn the module to the highest setting.

If you turn the module on after the mains you will have to wait for it to cut in as it has a delay before it will start.

But do you happen to know if there should be a resistance across the two non-mains voltage wires, ie if they supply a thermistor, or is the open circuit I’m getting correct?

It depends on if it is the 4 pin the 6 pin or the 8 pin module.

The newer 6 pin module has the sensor in the module.

The 8 pin has a reed switch and a sensor.

The 4 pin just has a reed switch

The six pin has a reed switch and a sensor but just 2 wires so this type will not get a reading.

The new module should come complete with the Antonio Merloni Instructions or you should be able to get a copy from AWS.

Thanks very much Bob. Mine has a 6 pin module and yes it does have the ntc on the module; I hadn’t noticed that before. I’ll order the module.
