Diplomat gas hob not sparking

turn on the gas, hit the ignition button but the usual spark is not there/no spark ‘cracking’ sound

any thoughts? if this reqires a spare part is this something i might be able to tacke or would it req a reg corgi eng?

i suppose an alternative is to buy a handle held spark if the above is going to be expensive?

Yes Minty, most likely the ‘Sparker Unit’ has failed possibly the push button switch/and or the connections to them both
