    Hi,

    I’ve just acquired a Diplomat gas oven (ADP0122) and I’m trying to work out whether the oven seal is faulty or not. Basically, the top section of the door seal appears to be missing, but I’m not sure if this is a design feature to help with ventilation or not. Can anyone tell me if this is normal, or, if not, where I can order a replacement seal from?

    The door seal looks a bit like this:

    .xxxx——–xxxx.
    x…………………..x
    x…………………..x
    x…………………..x
    x…………………..x
    x…………………..x
    .xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

    x = seal
    – = metal bit (missing seal), which isn’t elsewhere around the door, but lets quite a bit of heat out during cooking.

    Thanks very much,
    – Lee

    Yes, that’s correct for this model.

    It’s made by Stoves for MFI and pretty much all of those have this type of door seal fitted.

    Ah, okay. Thanks very much.

    It seems to lose quite a bit of heat through that gap, but if that’s how it’s supposed to work…!

    Thanks again.
