    Hi
I have a Diplomat HJA 8630 dishwasher. I had to remove it the other day to do some work on the work top. When I replaced it and turned on, it performed its usual pump out for about 20 secs, and then just stopped. There is no water flowing into the machine, as I would expect at this point, and no error indicators.

The water is turned on at the mains and I have checked that there is water pressure at the inlet to the machine.

I suspect the inlet valve has seized. However before I start replacing this, is there anything else it is likely to be?

First thing to check is if the fill hose has kinked when you’ve put it back in.

Thanks for the reply. I have already tried that – in fact I have taken machine out and tested it in middle of kitchen floor. No difference.

Before replacing anything try re-seating the electrical connectors first. Just moving your machine from 1 point to another & back would’nt normally cause the inlet valve to seize.

PLEASE REMEMBER: POWER OFF & PLUG OUT FIRST, getting :zap: can seriously ruin your day.

Just tried re-seating connectors. Still not filling with water. The unit had not been used for a period of 6 weeks prior to being moved. I wonder whether that would have caused the inlet valve to seize (and be nothing to do with me moving it)?

That’s possible, a sharp tap on top of the valve with the handle of a screwdriver may release it long enough to prove your point.
