Hi, my dishwasher is just over 3 years old and runs at least once per day. The only issue I have had so far is one of the runners on the upper rack which I replaced easily with a new part. Other than that it gradually became noisier around a year ago, but still managed to wash the dishes fine.

A few days ago, I noticed something was up. First, there was a lump of detergent at the front of the machine. Apparently, this can be caused by ‘old’ detergent, so I got rid of it and tried again.

I have cleaned all filters and spray arms and the machine is running but making little noise. The dishes in the lower rack seem to wash OK but not the dishes in the upper rack. As the machine is not making as much noise as usual, is this something to do with the water getting to the upper spray arm, i.e. does it use a pump for this? Water seems to drain OK, so no issues there.

Thanks for any advice you can give.
