Hi,
My dishwasher wash cycle stopped working suddenly. Tried reset button, but motor still did not kick in. Removed motor and noticed white residue around one part of circulation motor frame (looked a bit like limescale). Otherwise looked in good condition. Bottom of dishwasher not flooded. Disassembled motor and cleaned up/oiled. Reassembled and dishwasher worked fine for about a week. Then motor got slower and slower on one particular cycle and completely stopped. Couldn’t get to work again on any setting or via reset. Only had it 14 months! Not sure if it is the motor, capacitor or circuit board. Can you suggest anything to try?
It’s a Beko-built machine. You are describing a classic motor failure. The white deposits are caused by detergent escaping through the motor seal. The water has damaged the front bearing, causing the slow running.
Replacement motor is you only option – p/no 1740701300 – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get things moving for you.
Many thanks for the advice, will do. I have one further quick question on this regarding the bracket for the circulation motor. When I removed this I could swear it was attached to the back panel, but can’t find any screw holes. Does anyone know to which part of the casing this should be attached?
Thanks
