    Hi,
This is a new one on me.

    It’s a Diplomat HJA8703 (looks like a rebadged Candy)

I got called to a customers house because her washing machine is making a loud banging noise. I originally suspected drum suspension issues going by her description of the fault, but when I got there and tested out the suspension all seemed OK. I decided to run it through an empty test and found that the drum is turning at a spin speed when on the wash cycle. It’s going through all the right motions but at double speed. The noise she was hearing was the the drum jumping around because the load didn’t have time to balance out before the drum turned at warp speed!!
Any one else come across this issue before?
The tacho is sending a signal back to the board so I’m assuming a board error?
All wiring looks to be intact with no obvious shorts.

I have come across many issues with drums not turning or not spinning up but this is a new one on me!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A visual inspection yes, no obvious signs of burning or dry joints.

I will check the board when there again next week. Its a holiday let and I only had limited time on this occasion as the person letting me in had to get back to work. Spent most of my time removing the kitchen units to get the damn thing out. Oh I hate integrated appliances!!

Been a while since I had time to come on here.

PCB was indeed faulty. Customer wanted to buy a new machine in the end.
