The inner pane of glass in the door of my oven has shattered during cooking and I need to replace it. The oven is a Diplomat but I’m not clear what model.

Where on the oven might I find the model number? It is a single, built-in oven that was already there when I bought the property and I have no manuals or other paperwork for it. Any ideas?

Also – is shattering without any reason a common problem with this make of oven?

    Thanks

Usually the model number is on the inside of the door or the cavity where the door fits into.

On some it’s on the top of the oven, which is a pain as you have to pull it out a bit to get it.

Door glasses do break, but not that common a failure really.

    Re: Diplomat – inner door

Thanks for this – couldn’t see it on the inside of the door so I’ll try pulling it out a bit.

Am planning on buying the replacement pane as it seems to be a slide in one therefore no installation costs – but if there’s anything I can do to stop the same thing happening again then do let me know.

I’ve never used the door as a shelf and hadn’t bashed it at all, wasn’t even in the same room at the time, so not sure why it happened or how it could be prevented from happening again – don’t want to be shelling out for replacement glass too many times….

    Thanks
