The dishwasher was halfway through Programme 7 (the hotest super wash programme that we usually use) when it tripped the RCD on the fuse board. We have a 11.5kw electric shower which was running at the same time and uses quite a bit of water pressure.

Whenever I now try and turn the dishwasher back on it causes the RCD to trip so there is no display on the LCD screen on the edge of the integrated door. It is definitely the dishwasher that is at fault, not the shower.

I’ve noticed that the element in the dishwasher is slightly blackened in a few areas. There is a very small amount of water in the bottom of the dishwasher.

I unscrewed a large white cap in the bottom the dishwasher next to the element and a small amount of water gushed upwards out of the pipe.

Any advice on what I should check, unblock, reset?

    Thanks

    Steven

Possibly heater, mains suppressor blown would be my favourite. Power off if you’re going underneath.
