ParticipantHi guru’s,
After getting a beating from the missus I have managed to drag myself to my PC to ask you for help…
I have a Diplomat M8702 -washer/dryer intergrated( I think(please correct me) that it may also have changed its name to hygena apm8702).
Problem : randomly the cycles/timer dial stops part way through a cycle, however the washing machines is still running and doing its thing. If it stops the cycle never finishes, and keeps washing or spinning depending on where its stops. Sometimes the cycle may complete with no issues.
I changed it to start a different cycle and same thing happens, its never the same so I dont think its jammed in any way.All draining and taking in water seems fine
Some one told me that its a faulty timer dial and needs replacing, Does anyone know if this is the case ? could it be anything else ?
If its the timer, where do I get one? and what exact model do I need to get. Its confusing as the diplomat model does not exist, so not not sure what the hygena/ or other model ones will work.
I really hope you could pin this one for me.
Many Many thanks in advance.

Hi Raj,
Most probably not the timer but there’s numerous other things that would cause the washing machine to stop on the program.
Have you taken note of where about it stops?

Hi K,
Thanks for replying… so quickly…
The actual machine/program does not stop, the machine keeps moving but I think its stuck doing the same thing over and over again.
The dial stops randomly, some places more than other. for example program C-for spin. starts and keeps going does not move on to complete program. but then the next time you do it. it does. Another example I went home padded from head to toe and asked the missus to test the machine and to note down any pattern to the issue. she told me whe done 2 full loads of washing on prgram 6 or 7 back to back. and they worked fine. !?!?!?!?
At first I did not beleive the timer being the problem however now I am thiinking it may well be the timer slowly degrading and soon enough will blow up.
Your thoughts and expertise is much appreciated….
thanks
