    Hi all,
    I have a diplomat 610g – ADP0122, Model 200502038 which last night stopped cooking 🙁

I have checked the fuses in the plug and the isolating switch all are ok. The fan rotates but the cooker light does not come on, and neither does the gas or ignition start.

I found a previous post that states to check the element, but I’m totally new to the world of cookers and just done know where to start so any help would be wonderfull 😀

Re: Diplomat – fan spins but no light or ignition

It may be the timer is on auto mode ?

Try that first, apart from that there is little you can do I’m afraid as this is an all gas oven and has no elements. You will need to call a Corgi registered engineer to repair for you should the need arise. Check Repairs@ for one 🙂

Does the grill work by the way ?

    Dave.

    Thanks for the reply.

No the grill does not work, there is no display on the clock/timer either so I didn’t know if there was some secret fuse inside (kinda hoping so I wouldn’t have to call someone out) I’ll be looking for an engineer then! 🙂

Re: Diplomat – fan spins but no light or ignition

    *EDIT*

Its fixed – hurrah! 😀 It was just the red button needed depressing AND the timer needed setting – once this was done the beast powered back up, if you ever need to try it yourself then please be carefull taking the back casing off as on mine it was quite tight to the gas lead.

    *EDIT*

Ok, after a little investigation I found the little red button on the unit that the fan attaches too needed to be pressed – low and behold I now have a display but no gas coming through. The light does not come on either.

After tracing the wires with a fluke, I have traced the failure to the box at the back of the cooker – its a Kigass Electronics – SN: 026367 / Model D9805/1 which also has in text – Reig1 output Reig 2, L1L2

This box can be taken apart but it is tight and I dont think there is anything inside (it has no fuse ratings either) which I can replace/fiddle with to cure it (is there?) Therefore I believe it will need to be replaced – where are the best places to look for one and does anyone know the actual componant name I can look for?

I have a suitable spark generator, which I bought and then found I do not need. It cost me £26.50 and I will sell it to you for the same amount if you want it.
Thanks for the tip about the red button on the Diplomat oven. Do you know why it is there? Is it a thermal trip?

It is a thermal cut-out, so the real question is – why did it trip?

Im with Penguin on this one. Being gas aswell I would definately not be meddling inside a gas oven and resetting things. Not only do you have to be a Corgi engineer, its the danger of resetting without knowing the cause.
I would strongly suggest checking repairs@ for a local corgi engineer to give it the once over.

This is a stoves build oven, what you would first check is that the cooling fan is still spinning when you turn on the oven,if it is it is more than likely going to be down to a faulty installation ie: gap between top of facia and underside of worksurface non existant (should be between 5-8mm) or no ventilation under appliance no gap at back of shelf on which cooker stands, these clearances are essential on these ovens and are all stated in the instruction manual.
