diplomat oven problems when top oven is working

I have a Diplomat built in oven, which we had for sometime before it was installed. We’ve been using it for the past 4 years in which time I’ve only used the top oven for the grill setting. I have now found out that if I use the top oven for the oven setting whilst the bottom fan oven is working that the clock goes off, the bottom fan oven stops working and when opening the top oven door there seems to be a strong smell. If I turn off the top oven the clock will flash on again to be reset and the bottom oven will start reworking (both after approx. 5 mins). Any answers to what’s wrong and if it can be fixed?

Sounds like it’s overheating.

Could be ventilation or a cooling fan issue, possibly thermostat.
