Diplomat select 620 oven not working

I have just changed the thermostat on my oven, now I cant get any power to the oven selector switch? the problem appears to be a small set of contacts on the back of the digital clock, they are open and need to be closed, any idea what could be holding the points open? What are they there for anyway?

I don’t know this model – but silly question – it’s not in auto timer mode is it? I remember many ovens needed the clock to be set before it would return to manual

Dont have the manual for the cooker! but have fiddled with the buttons and it does seem to be in manual.
Since posting the original message the contacts have now closed as a small plastic piece has come out of the contacts and alowed them to close… anyway its working ok now??? not sure if thats good or bad but enjoyed my tea 😀 whatever the contacts are they cant be to important on the back of the clock.
