When I turn the oven on the fan starts to spin then gives up meaning the rear of the oven turns red hot. Can you give advice please if this is a common/obvious fault or if I need a new oven.

    Hi Matt,

Select 910 is the series, not the model number which we would need to look up any parts for you.

However, it sounds like a straightforward fan motor failure which is reasonably easy to put right and not that expensive usually.

Thanks. I’ll need to try and dig out the instruction manual tonight. The model number wouldn’t be anywhere on the oven would it? It was in the house when I moved in so not sure I even have the guff about it. For a complete numpty like me is it better to get an engineer out for this?

The model number will be on the rating plate either inside the oven door or on the top panel, if that’s the case you need to draw it out a bit to get to it.

If you’re not confident, I’d suggest a professional as it is a full oven out and strip off the back to replace the motor.

In that case, an engineer it is. Presumably I go through your ‘find an appliance engineer’ facility?

Yup, you should be able to find someone on there.
