    Diplomat (Servis) fridge freezer. APM6855. 2006914777 0381030030301.

Temperature in the two cavities about right and the display shows within 2 degrees of my thermometer. Customer reports that the fridge sporadically goes off and gets too warm. The freezer meanwhile is always OK. As usual working fine when I called…..
I’ve looked on the parts list and seen it’s the damper type of fridge control so could it be anything to do with that malfunctioning? There are 2 PCB’s shown on Connections but as I don’t normally do fridges I could use some help please! The mag switch turns the fan on and off when the door is opened and shut BTW.

    Hope someone can help……

    Cheers,

    Steve.

Check in the freezer to see if it is frosting up.

It is the no frost sensor or fan faulty as it is rare for any other problem on this model.

If is not iced up or just has frost build up near the top of the freezer evaporator then it is most like an intermitant fan fault.

You can use a universal connect fan motor FRG5205 and just join to the existing wires as it is a lot cheaper than an original fan.

The fans sometimes find it hard to start when cold and then work after a jolt. Closing the door hard sometimes gets it working again.

You will not get that problem with a universal fan.

To test the fan use a magnet near the sensor just below the display on the fridge and you can put your hand near the vents at the back to see if you can feel the air flow if the fan kicks in.
In the freezer the sensor is on the right near the middle basket.

If no air flow and the fan is working it may be the vent at the bottom right behind the panel in the freezer iced up as the drain can sometimes ice up.

If the drain is icing up defrost it and fit a wire around the heater into the drain a piece of old thermostat capillary is good for this.

    Thanks for the information Bob!
Fan is OK so I think the vent could be the issue.

    Cheers!
