ParticipantAnyone going to help myke? I don’t know the answer to this one – doesn’t sound like the usual fill problems. Heater or NTC maybe?

Sorry, I missed this one. 😳
The fault described points to an E2 or similar from memory but I or Dave will answer it fully in the morning.

not working at all today wont do a cold rinse so i guess that rules out the heater and stat never realy looked but how much water should be in the machine when full1/2″ or more? managed to get an instruction book from a friend at mfi it says 2 and 5 are indeed an E2 error safety level switch tripped
this water level switch is it a similar type to a washing machine ie a presure switch or is it a float switch? machine is intergrated and i have checked its level
thanks for the speedy replies guys mykeOctober 12, 2004 at 8:47 am #117867kwatt

Okay Myke, this is an E2 error which can be no less than one of 12 faults, although most likely to be a side chamber issue. In all honesty it’s not a job for the DIYer as the sides need stripped and the chamber cleaned or replaced depending on how serious it is if that is indeed the problem.
There is a pressure switch as well as a safety device for anti-flood protection but much of the fill system is to do with the fill chamber.
Wiring diagrams we are not allowed to handout sadly without written consent from the manufacturer or the powers that be in this case. 🙁
I can tell you that the machine is actually manufactured by Smeg so it’s not a bad machine really. 😉
