ill never forget the day i was delivering a new freezer. it was to an old old country property of a hoarder – stuff everywhere, piled very high and not been moved for decades! really musty damp smell when you walked in. half the stuff was on the old freezer that had “died a few weeks ago” which we were going to remove.
anyway, got it clear, noticed a odder more pungeant smell, discounted it as i assumed it was something leftover in the freezer and leant down tipped fridge forward with my colleage, and shoved my hand under the back compresser bar.
mistake.
the rotting slightly singed corpse of a rat that took a fancy to the cable was between the freezer and my hand and it wasnt that, that made me feel sketchy, it was the squechy oozey feeling as the freezers weight compressed its body enough to to spluge its innards over my hand that got me.
i couldnt actually eat all day…

Hi all, new to the site.
Worst one ive come across was when I went to look at a tumble dryer in an old peoples home (out of guarantee). One of the old dears had had a number two accident in the night, got up, made her way to the laundry room and put the dirty sheets in what she thought was the washing machine! In the morning they found the tumble dryer had spread the sh*te all around the drum!! They kindly asked if I could remove the drum and give it a clean!!
I kindly refused.H

Had a washer many years ago when I worked for SWEB (Electricity Board) where Granny had been looking after the kids and didn’t know about disposable nappies, needless to say a serious mess was made of the machine and the kitchen when she tried to wash a load of them, nightmare 😯

THE worst i’ve ever had the displeasure of attending to was in fact a ceramic hob!
Alarm bells rang as soon as i walked in, the owners had a complete full sized stuffed tiger(!) in the living room festooned with the laundry hanging to dry alongside the gas fire giving a lovely combination smell of fabric conditioner and wet fur!
Worse was to come, as i was shown through to the kitchen the lady warned me that they had a pet gibbon and although they’d just shut it in it’s cage (it normally has the run of the house) it might make some alarming noises…well, we’ve all heard the little rhyme ‘little birdie flying high, drops a message from the sky…’ but it seems this monkey had done some low flying over the hob, i was greeted with a large neat brown package sitting right on the corner of the hob :shake:
I politely refused to remove the hob to get the serial number……
