Disconnected wire…

I have just replaced the rear bearing and drum belt on my Hotpoint VTD60P. A quick check on Easy Iron and it seems to work. However, I noticed a disconnected black wire, with a 1/8″ crimp socket on the end. It goes to the metal bar on the back of the internal filter housing. My guess is that is the sensor bar for auto dry sensing, but I cannot for the life of me see where it plugs in,or how it came to be detached.
    Can anyone help please.

It’s the removable filter (housing) just inside when you open the front door.
There is a metal looking bar attached to that housing…. attached to that is a black wire with a spade terminal. Where does it connect to ???/

Sensor bar is actually quite a good description and the black wire should connect to it. You may have to take the side panel off again to have a proper look, as it’s not a problem I’ve come across.

As a Moderator, I should refer you to the FORUM RULES, notably No. 8……

Bit of patience required – there’ll be an AMP terminal down there somewhere.

Thanks, I’m an electronics engineer of some 40 yrs, but this one has got me stumped. Something so apparently simple, but has eluded my powers of deduction 🙁
