BlockedHi all
I previously read a thread where someone had suggested a discount for Insuraces etc. I have tried breifly to find it…. but with no joy. Anyway, that post has had me thinking. Would it not be a good idea to approach a couple of Insurance brokers, and as per the spares discount, ask if they would like to offer a discount for WTA members for all Insurances? If we could get a deal on the table with 1 or 2 Companies, within the next couple of weeks, wouldn’t that be great? I know of a rather large brokers ‘A Plan’, who deal with all my Insurances. They are very good, competetive and they act rapidly when asked to do anything. I kinda know one of the regonal managers, and I think I could start the ball rolling with them. What does everyone else think? Do you all want to check out A Plan and see what you think?

Hi Ade
A lot of this was tried in the early days of UKW with varying degrees of success. For the most part guys can be very slow on the up take.
By all means get some quotes but it can be very frustrating when you find a cracking idea or deal and nobody wants to know.Ken managed to get some brilliant deals but very few took them up.

Yep, very frustrating.
When it comes to insurance, unless you have hundreds of members and can get a lot of support the insurers aren’t interested either really. On car/van insurance especially the discounts are minimal, if you get any at all, as it is a very competitive marketplace.

Hi guys,
Well, to be blunt, it doesnt really matter whether people take up the offer of a discount or not, that is their prerogative. But, If we can get to a point where we can table a load of discount schemes for members, wouldn’t that be great? If one member took advantage of a discount, regardless of what field it were in, we would have achieved something right there! And if no-one does take advantage of a discount, well, what have we lost?

KeymasterThe problem isn’t us Ade, it’s members and convincing potential discount givers that there’s a benefit to them in it.
I have already been down this road for vehicles, liability and premises insurance and got nowhere and, that was knowing the company.
But if you wanna give it a go, go right ahead I say.

There’s an organisation called TAF who have already done a lot of groundwork here. It might be worth a gander. Let’s face it with a name like TAF it’s got to be a job for a guy from south wales ……….LOL
