ParticipantI’m replacing a Diplomat ADP8322 which has given 5 years excellent service.
I went out yesterday to look at an Indesit DIF04, but couldn’t find one on display. User reviews seem to give this machine the thumbs up.
What I did see was my old machine as a Whirlpool ADG7560 and that got me thinking!
Would it be worth getting the Whirlpool ADG7560 and stripping the usable bits from the Diplomat for spares? In other words are the parts of the two machines inter-changeable?
I’d appreciate your comments.Regards

Hi Helen,
It won’t work, many of the components will be totally different.
I’d also avoid the Indesit if I were you. 😉

Now isn`t that a strange coincidence I had a lady on the phone about an hour ago asking me the same question who also has a Diplomat machine. Advised her to go with Neff or if budget would not allow then one of the Hotpoint machines. I wonder what the odds are on that happening 😯

Goodness me, £206 for a fully integrated dishwasher 😯 Far to cheap if you ask me.

Thanks kwatt. So, that’s stay clear of all Indesits?
I was swayed towards the Whirlpool thinking that if the performance was half as good as the Diplomat I’d be well chuffed. Cosmetically it looks the same machine, but component-wise it’s different and so I must assume the performance may be different. Is that about right?
don – thank you for the advice. Your Lady must have seen her old Diplomat in Currys and had the same daft thought as me!! Yes, the Indesit is cheap at £206, although some are selling it for nigh on £400. I suppose a case of if it looks too good to be true etc etc.
May I just ask a general question? The Diplomat was a cold-water fill machine and that’s the only supply to where the new machine will stand. I’ve noticed some Dishwashers now say they are hot and cold fill. Do I need to stay clear of these as they need the hot water to perform correctly?

Hi Helen K
Which machines have you seen which are hot and cold as I don`t know of any of the branded machines currently on the market with this feature. Many years ago some of the Hotpoint machines had the option of being hot fill, but that was an age ago :rolls: or have I missed something 😉

I had indeed missed it 😉 I have just checked the Bosch installation instructions and found the following information which should help.
Bosch wrote: We recommend that you use cold water. If you do use hot water the temperature should not exceed 60 degree C.

Although there may have been one, I have never seen a hot and cold fill dishwasher.
Now hot or cold is a different matter. 😉

The Diplomat ADP8322 was built by Whirpool and badged up for MFI so you could expect similar performance levels.

Thanks all for the advice.
don – the reference to hot and cold water fill is on the Comet website in a list of other features for the Indesit DIF04. The explanation of hot or cold fill makes much more sense and probably that is what should have been written.
Many thanks again

Water pressure as well as temperature can effect the working of the dishwasher. In general hot water pressure is far more variable than cold. Certain models of dishwasher use timed fills for some functions, the old Bosch/Hotpoint higher spec models had a special glass wash programme that used timed fills. It was found that if the water pressure was to low the machine did not take in enough water to do the wash correctly.
I think the general advice from the trade would be to use cold fill unless you can be certain you have a good hot pressure that is not set at to high a temperature.
