ParticipantHi, the machine is used for 4 years. Since yesterday when I turn it on it waits about 10-15 seconds and the fourth light from left to right begins to blink. I don’t know which program is it because it is almost erased, but it seems like AUTO. Then I can not change the programs any more – the buttons are not working. And when I close it makes a noise like sucking out water. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, you appear to be posting from Bulgaria so this information may not relate to your specific model.
However, light 4 flashing indicates a ‘no heat’ fault, very common on these Indesit made machines.
In most cases it will either be the heating element or the control module or PCB.
The first step is to isolate from the mains and test the heating element for continuity, resistance and insulation. If the heater is OK then it will be the control PCB.
Heater is the ‘tube’ type accessed from underneath, lie the machine on its side to get the base off.

Hi iadom,
Thanks for the reply. I opened the bottom of the dish washing machine:

and here is the heating element:

Would you please tell me how to test it?

You need to remove the small black connector with the purple and pink wires and then test between the two terminals for resistance/continuity with a megger or suitable multimeter.
Resistance should be approx 26.5?

Thanks iadom. Just checked it – 27?. I guess now starts the difficult part.
Don’t know if this is important but the light for the rinse aid is always blinking – maybe far an year ago.January 12, 2012 at 6:05 pm #367083iadom

Ignore the rinse aid light, not really a problem and not a fault indicator.
Its now 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain your control PCB is faulty, this is where it does get difficult. Here in the UK a similar model has at least two different PCB’s, these can only be identified from the full model number and serial number. The ones we have will quite possibly be different to machines sold in Bulgaria, thats of course if you are in Bulgaria. 😉

Here is a picture of the board:

and the serial number is 407132543.
Any advise will be great.

You really do need to make enquiries about the correct PCB in your own area to be truthful.
There are two listed for similar UK machines, one is listed as a 100 bit timer E2 (also P3)
The other is listed as 100 bit timer F3 ROHS.
I have no idea how to identify which is an E2 (P3) or an F3 ROHS.
These PCB’s are not cheap, here in the UK they are around £70 sterling, thats about 163.683 Lev,for that reason you do have to make sure you get the correct PCB for your machine.

iadom,
very strange. After I put all back and started it, for about 10-20 minutes it was working like making a self test. After that I turned it on and off and started it again. It worked for about 15 minutes, beeped and stopped. now the fifth and the seventh light are blinking at one time. When I opened it there was a lot of steam – the heater is working! But while it was working there was an unusual sound – something like popple.
Is it getting better or worse?
Thanks for helping

Thats the problem with trying to diagnose machines sold in other countries.
Machines with 7 lights have different error codes to ones with 4.
On a seven light machine light 4 is supposed to signify a flooded base, did any water run out when you tipped the machine up to check the heater?
I have to say though that your picture shows a very clean baseplate. ❓
Lights 5 & 7 are a heater related fault. It could be that you have an internal leak allowing water to get onto the electrics.

When I tipped the machine to check the heater, I tipped it to the left side(looking from the front) and maybe about a one liter of water run out.
Should I have to wait for it to dry, or check for the leak?January 13, 2012 at 9:54 am #367089iadom

The base should be bone dry, you should have mentioned the water… 😉
Looking at the underside of the machine looks very clean so I don’t think you have a main circulation pump leak.
Check the fixing of the lower spray arm.
It is a ‘reverse’ bayonet fixing onto the spout that comes up from the base inside the tub.
This spout often comes loose leading to a very bad leak. The spout just screws into the hose that comes from the top of the main circulation pump.
Then leave it to dry or give it a good blast with a decent hairdryer.
